Other FAQ:
Q: What shall I wear?
A: We suggest that you wear comfortable lose fitting clothes
that you are able to move, bend and stretch in with ease.
Q: What if I have never practiced Yoga before?
A: Then Metta is where you want to be. We do suggest a more
basic class to begin with so that you can feel that you are learning and
improving with each posture and pose. Remember that you are never an expert at
something you just started. Be patient with yourself and your knowledge,
strength, and energy with flow.
Q: Do I need any special equipment?
A: We do suggest you bring your own yoga matt for hygiene
reasons, but we can lend you one as well. No other equipment is needed.
Q: Should I practice Yoga in bare feet?
A: We do recommend barefoot so that you have the best experience on the matt.
Q; Is there a religious aspect to Yoga?
A: Yoga is a practical aid, not a religion. You will make your
practice as spiritual as you want it to be. Yoga is an ancient art based on a
harmonizing system of development for the body, mind, and spirit. The continued
practice of yoga will lead you to a sense of peace and well-being, and also a
feeling of being at one with their environment.
Q: Are there different kinds of Yoga? Which kind is taught at Metta?
A: Metta offers many types and styles of Yoga from Kundalini
Yoga (very traditional) to Athletic Flow (fitness oriented). Each class
experience will be unique to the instructor. It is recommended to try all of
the classes for an overall balanced Yoga Practice. Read more in our Class Experiences
tab.
Q: Do you have hot yoga?
A: In all our other classes temperature is around 75F, some deeper stretch classes have 85F as well as Power and Master Flow classes.
